“The Mary Rose Trust offers a unique insight into life in Tudor England. The vast collections of artefacts recovered from the ship, as well as the remains of the ship herself, offer a wonderful opportunity to learn about some of the more ‘ordinary’ people who lived in the 16th century. School workshops are intrinsically linked to the collections and the knowledge that has been gained about the ship and her crew. The Learning Team is passionate about the subject and this is reflected in the delivery of the workshops and their desire to maintain the level of interest and understanding of the remarkable history of the Mary Rose, and it is clear that learning carries some weight in the organisation as a whole.”
