Enjoy a unique experience at The Mary Rose & Boathouse 4 this summer. New for 2023, guests can now enjoy an afternoon treat starting with a guided tour of The Mary Rose, and then afternoon tea at Ruth Hanson's Boathouse 4, where you will have views out to the Solent and HMS Warrior.
Guests will then make their way down to the museum where their guide will take them round on a guided tour. Discover the largest collection of Tudor objects anywhere in the world, and marvel at Henry VIII’s pride and joy, his beloved Mary Rose. She lay under the Portsmouth Sea for 437 years before being raised, treated, and conserved into the awe-inspiring piece of Portsmouth history you see today. Guests can also experience 'Dive the Mary Rose 4D' our new multi-sensory cinema experience.
After their tour, guest will then make their way down to Boathouse 4, in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, for afternoon tea. Provided by our on site caterers Baxter Storey, afternoon tea includes:

This experience can be booked for 2 people per table, and 3 tables per session. Sessions start at Midday and afternoon tea is served for 2pm in Boathouse 4. Please allow 3 hours for this experience. Tours will be shared with others booked onto this experience, this will be a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6.

No entry ticket for the Mary Rose required, this is included. This will not include entry to any other attractions on site, an additional ticket will be required. Allow 2.5 hours for this experience.

The Museum staff on the night were excellent and several of our guests have remarked on this. We hadn’t realised that volunteers in costume would be there but they brought something special to the event and were so knowledgeable and helpful. We were very pleased with the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff.
