International Day of Play

As part of International Day of Play, here at The Mary Rose Museum we invite children and grown ups to come along and have some fun and play Tudor style! 

Take part in our Tudor games with our giant Nine Men’s Morris board, ball and cup and quoits games – Learn what the men of The Mary Rose did for fun on board the ship! 

Dress up like a Tudor with our selfie station! Will you be a Lord or Lady or a crew member?

Snap your pic as a Tudor and pose on Henry VIII’s throne!

Get hands on with history and get crafty as you make your very own Tudor inspired beeswax candle to take home with you, and learn about the candles we found aboard the ship.

Around the museum you’ll also find our kids hands on stations with artefact uncovering at our underwater archaeology sand pit, have a go archery at our weaponry handling area and knot tying too! 

There's so much to do at The Mary Rose; fun and play for all ages, history to be explored and memories to be made! 

All activities are free with a valid Mary Rose Museum entry ticket.
