By bus/coach

National and local services stop at the Hard Interchange, a short walk from the Historic Dockyard.

By car

From the M27, take junction 12 to M275. Follow the “Historic Waterfront” signs on the motorway and “Historic Dockyard” signs in Portsmouth.

  • The Portsmouth Historic Dockyard car park PO1 3GW (Admiralty Road, disabled spaces available)
  • Wickham Street car park PO1 3EF (Disabled spaces available)
  • The Harbour car park PO1 3EQ (no height restriction, disabled spaces available)

Additional parking available at Gunwharf Quays (disabled spaces available)

Alternatively, you can use the Park and Ride facility off the M275.  Then take the Park and Ride bus which drops you a short 2min walk from the Dockyard entrance.

By ferry

The Gosport ferry and Isle of Wight catamaran both arrive at Portsmouth Harbour station.

The Hovercraft terminal is approx.1km from the Museum, but a shuttle bus is available.

By train

The nearest station is Portsmouth Harbour: a few minutes’ walk from the Historic Dockyard and only around 90 minutes by rail from London Waterloo.

When you arrive

The Mary Rose Museum is located within Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Tickets are sold and scanned at the Dockyard Visitor Centre, on the left inside Victory Gate.

The Mary Rose Museum is located 400 metres from the Visitor Centre, behind HMS Victory.  A golf buggy can be made available if required, find out more on our accessibility page.
