Create your own Cowdray

This summer, the Mary Rose Museum continues its celebration of Portsmouth’s centennial year with summer activities based around the Tudor world and the Cowdray engraving. Get creative and discover Tudor inspired crafting that focus on the Battle of the Solent in 1545.

On Wednesdays and Fridays this summer, come and learn all about the Cowdray Engraving and the battle of the Solent. Complete our specially designed version of the famous image and each week, we will focus on a key element from the Tudor painting – design and color your own version of a flag bearer, the Mary Rose, Henry VIII, the English Army encampment and Southsea Castle. Each week we will focus on one of these elements.

Wednesdays 7 Fridays at 11:00am-3:00pm. Between the 29th July – 28th August 2026.

This event is free with a valid museum ticket.
