Tool holder

81A1317 + 81A1319

This is one of six tool holders recovered from the Mary Rose, and the most complete.

Made with a conical rod of pine, crudely notched to create slots for tools, and with a fitted cow leather sheath, this tool holder would have been worn on the belt of one of the carpenters of the Mary Rose, allowing him to work without putting down and losing his tools.
