This leather bottle was recovered from the orlop deck and features a large ‘Celtic harp’ design on its front.
This is classed as a bottle, rather than a flask, as it has a flat bottom, allowing it to stand, although not as firmly as a ceramic bottle. Like the similar leather flasks, it has points where a cord or leather strap could be fitted, allowing it to be carried. It was found without its stopper, so we have no idea what was stored within it. Wine is more likely than Guinness, though…
