This small lead disc is believed to be a religious icon, probably representing the Black Virgin of Rocamadour, a pilgrimage site in France.
On the reverse is the date 1542. There is no sign of a loop for a ribbon of chain to attach to, but the nub at the bottom may show where one had been.
