Cannon royal

This cannon royal was recovered by John Dean in 1836 from the main deck of the Mary Rose.

Made of bronze, this gun was cast by Robert and John Owen in 1535, possibly in Calais, and features the royal arms surrounded by the Garter, topped with a crown, and an inscription that reads (translated)
