Apply now: Free Mary Rose workshops

In 2025, we are running our All-Aboard Access programme, which allows us to offer 120 free workshops to schools across Hampshire.

The Mary Rose Trust’s objective is to conserve and secure the Museum for future generations, and a key driver for this is through our Learning and engagement work which aims to ensure the Mary Rose and her treasures continues to play a vital role in the 21st century and beyond, inspiring people of every age and background to discover new ways to interpret her stories, to understand our shared past, to educate us about the future.

In 2025, we are running our All-Aboard Access programme, which allows us to offer 120 free workshops to schools across Hampshire which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. You can see the full range of our learning offer on our website:

Learning at the Mary Rose

All-Aboard Access programme

We are offering free workshops available with visits to the Mary Rose Museum. These are usually an additional £82.50 and to reduce your costs further we are giving 10 free child tickets for entry to the Museum when you take up one of our workshops, which can cater for up to 32 pupils.

This significantly reduces down the entry price when spread across the entire class. You can choose any workshop from our learning programme, and all you need to do to claim your workshops and tickets is contact the Learning Team at the Mary Rose on education@maryrose.org

Schools with a higher Pupil Premium will be prioritised if demand is high, but we would like to welcome as many local schools as possible. Please be aware that this programme will end in March 2026, so your visit date will need to be between June 2025 and March 2026.

Apply for a travel bursary

We are also offering some travel bursaries towards the cost of bringing your school to the Dockyards. To apply for this, we would need you to clearly outline in no more than 300 words why your school would benefit from financial assistance towards the cost of travel. We would also need to know the anticipated cost of your travel. We know how expensive travel is and we will be applying in the future for funds to help all schools, but in 2025, we are using this limited reserve as a trial to gather evidence for future bids. Therefore, if you were to be offered some help, we would ask in return for a short report explaining why this grant was so valuable to your school and what impact the learning has had on your pupils’ learning.

The deadline for applications is Friday 4th July, and please submit your request to: education@maryrose.org

Alternatively, if you would like to discuss this offer, please contact Garth McArthur (07432 031 570) or Charlotte Bailey (02392 871 119)
