Discover the world of Tudor archery, explore the museum with a behind the scenes guided tour of our collection, uncover amazing facts about the archers aboard the Mary Rose and their weaponry and lethal skills. Learn how a Tudor arrow was made, and handle real and replica artefacts from the Museum’s collection.

Your talk will be led by one of our expert guides and archers, and is perfect for history lovers, archers and archery fans alike.

What to expect:

Delve deeper into our fascinating and one-of-a-kind collection with our behind-the-scenes tour. Your expert guide will take you through the museum, highlighting our collection of Tudor bows, arrows and weaponry and through our Archive, not normally open to the public.

After your tour we will provide you with tea and coffee in our VIP Wardroom, giving you access to our exterior viewing balcony which offers stunning views across Portsmouth Harbour

Refreshments will be followed by a 40 minute talk and presentation on Tudor archery and the archers of the Mary Rose. This engaging and fascinating talk will be accompanied by a step-by-step guide on how to make a arrow, and the chance to view real and handle replica Tudor arrows.
