11:00 - 14:00
The Mary Rose Learning Team is organising an informal Science Open House exclusively for Home Educator Families on Monday 24 February 2020, 11am-2pm.
It showcases the cutting-edge science at The Mary Rose, Portsmouth. Themes include materials and nutrition, and families will have the opportunity to examine real Tudor materials under the microscope. A highlight of the day is the chance to meet Professor Eleanor Schofield, Head of Conservation and Collections Care at the Mary Rose, who will be happy to answer questions about her career and role at the museum.
There will be a range of activities suitable for children aged 5-12, ideal for anyone who enjoys both history and science.
The Open House ticket is £5 per child, £10 per adult with under-5’s free of charge. The ticket includes a free self-guided visit to the award-winning Mary Rose Museum. Tickets only valid for Monday 24 February 2020. No entry to the museum without an Open House ticket
