Tudor England - Brick by Brick

20 Oct - 28 Oct 2018

10:00 - 16:30

  • 8x8 LEGO® plate (as part of half term activities): £4.00

This October half Term, help us to create a LEGO® brick recreation of Portsmouth as it was in July 1545!

In May we gave visitors the opportunity to help recreate a famous Tudor portrait of Henry VIII. This time, we're going even bigger, and recreating the colourful Cowdray Engraving, a giant picture showing the whole of Tudor Portsmouth on the day that the Mary Rose sank, as a LEGO® brick mosaic. The overall mosaic will be over 12 metres wide, making it one of the largest ever made in the UK!

Will you make part of the Isle of Wight, one of the French or English ships, or one of the troops stationed in Portsmouth? You might even get to make the masts of the Mary Rose as they protrude from the water's surface?

In partnership with Bright Bricks, the UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional building company, we’re inviting everyone, young and old, to participate in reconstructing this iconic image as part of our Men of War week!

Bright Bricks is a professional LEGO building company who build and design custom LEGO creations for customers all over the UK and worldwide.

Bright Bricks is home to the UK's only LEGO Certified Professional.
