Wrap up warm and stroll through the cobbled streets of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and past HMS Victory, or jump on your own private buggy for a speedier arrival at this extraordinary venue space.

While Henry VIII was one of the few people to eat turkey with his Christmas meal after its introduction in 1523, as only the wealthiest could afford this delicious treat. Today, diners can enjoy traditional turkey with all the trimmings, or choose from a menu created from high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients.

An Upper Deck Christmas

Hauntingly evocative, the Upper Deck is the perfect space for a festive drinks reception or formal dinner – perhaps even with a Tudor Christmas theme.

Our premium events space, The Upper Deck is open to the Mary Rose, her sights and her scents, separated only by a waist-high glass balustrade.

It’s a sensationally evocative spot. Set against the atmospherically-lit backdrop of the hull of the ship, it’s impossible not to be impressed. As a canvas for a Christmas celebration, the Mary Rose evokes an atmosphere which is truly unique, and the Upper Deck itself twinkles with soft white lights and gorgeous festive floral displays.

An Admiral’s Gallery Christmas

For a fun and atmospheric Christmas celebration, The Admiral’s Gallery is a unique space overlooking the evocatively-lit hull of the Mary Rose. Dance the night away surrounded by some of the finest artefacts recovered from Henry VIII’s favourite warship. Pewter plates, Tudor musical instruments, shoes and cauldrons, all help paint a picture of the lives of those who sailed on board, and provide an atmospheric backdrop to your Christmas celebration.

The Admiral’s Gallery can host up to 100 guests for a seated Christmas dinner, and has a dance floor and space for a disco or live music. [Info on party sizes etc]

From The Bridge to the Wardroom

The Wardroom Suite is ideal for an intimate Christmas dinner for up to 18 people. It’s set to one side from the Mary Rose herself, and has views out to HMS Victory through its porthole-style windows.

The staff were fantastic during the planning and on the night. The Museum is very well laid out and very clean. The catering was outstanding – the Canapés were to die for and so beautifully presented.
